Unless you haven’t been updated with the latest trends in America, Dominique Ansel’s Cronut™ is one of them, he serves it up in his bakery New York (in Soho). And you only buy 2 per person. I put that patent over there because, yes, Mr. Ansel really did patent the name.
Moving on. In the Philippines we have a few cafes and bakeries that serves up croughnuts. Dolcelatte has 11 flavors and if you’re going to bulk order, you have to tell them earlier. We ordered 2 boxes (a dozen) a week earlier.
They didn’t have Valrhona Crunch flavor, probably because Valrhona chocolate is expensive. *shrug* So we doubled Raspberry and Custard Creamcheese instead.
I have forgone taking photos of food a long time ago, but our cousins (who are siblings) teased us with their croughnuts from Wildflour, and they didn’t give us. So my sister and I ordered a dozen at another bakery that we heard has the best croughnuts around.
AND IT TASTES GREAT. JUST SAYING. For real, the crunch of the croissant, the layers, the filling in the middle, and the flavors! SUGAR HEAVEN. Haha! We’ve tasted the Custard Creamcheese, Raspberry Creamcheese, and Almond Caramel.
We are at war! I hope, after this, we won’t be too disappointed when we taste Dominique Ansel’s Cronut™ in New York next year’s summer! HAHA! But hey, even if we were disappointed, it’s alright, at least we were together. Haha!
P.S. Yes, I purposely edited it to make it look blog-worthy. Because I was bored.
